I have never seen clouds like these before, but half the sky was covered with them! They don't quite look real, do they!

They really don't look real. Maybe that is what they mean by mackeral sky?

I don't know if I'd call that a mackeral sky. The clouds are so condensed together. I like it and the shots!

They look like some kind of cirrocumulus (I'm trying to learn the names...). Did you get a thunderstorm afterwards?
Anyway, it is an interesting sky. I like the branches reaching out.

This really is magical! I know, I use the word magical a lot... but this IS magical! Such unusual, puff-dot clouds... never seen anything like that. These photos almost remind me of paintings by the Surrealist painter Seurat. Happy Weekend, Judy :o) ((HUGS))

Nice! What my Grandmother called a "buttermilk sky" (I think there was a popular early 20th c. song of that title?)

We do get skies like this occasionally here in Southern California.
