Calendula

I walk past a couple of gardens which have calendula in them.

It is also called pot marigold, because the petals are edible.

They can brighten up a salad,

or add some colour to rice.

If you can bear to cut the flowers apart...

One of the calendula blossoms in my mother's garden harboured a spider. I think it is a crab spider, but correct me if I am wrong.

They are living in the garden at the church.
