The snow/sleet started coming down before we went for our walk this morning,
and by this afternoon, has changed to just snow.
But it is still coming down pretty hard.

Wow - You are really getting it. The one consolation, in my experience, is that snow this late in the season doesn't hang around too long. That's easy for me to say, since here in central Maryland we're just getting rain from this system. Something mesmerizing about snow, though... your photos capture that.
By the way, I've been following your blog for a while, and really admire it.
