Rose of Sharon

I have found out why petals look like this after a rain - there are normally air pockets in the petals, which become waterlogged, and make the petals translucent like this.

Let me be the first to say that those drops of water make the Rose of Sharon look winsome!

WATER

Water in a drop of rain,
Water swirling down the drain;
Water clinging to the trees,
Water filling up the seas;
Water frozen, water free,
Water is the stuff for me!

Well, that's just neat. Learn something new every day, I guess. It looks lovely, even if it is waterlogged
