There is a narwhale suspended from the ceiling at the Museum of Nature, and I have finally seen how the tooth actually comes out of the mouth. I thought you might be interested as well.

isn't it funny, they like to hang the whales up the ceiling. When I was young in borneo, we had two very big whales. My bro said so that people don't touch them too much and ruin them.

Natural history museums are among my very favorite things. Narwhales are also among my very favorite things, like hippopotamuses and rhinoceros because they just defy reason. Let's hope they survive in the wild so we don't have to go to the museums to see them!

Ah, coyote vs wolf ID: Wolves appear to have big heads and small rounded ears relative to bulky body size. 'Yotes are slim with pointy nose and slim pointy ears. Best if you can see tracks--a really big coyote might have a 3" long foot, whereas wolf feet are 4" plus. In tracking them, I find that wolves will often bee-line for a mile or more from place to place, whereas coyotes tend to meander all about like a fox.
