Big Ben and Ian Miller

In the little town of Perth, Ontario, there is a life sized statue of Big Ben and Ian Miller.

Their home was nearby, and Ben is fondly remembered.

And this is the statue in front of the Court House.

There is an inscription on both the front and the back, for different men.

I was taking some photos of the Woodstock Court House, and found this statue. It is interesting on several levels. I had never heard of the man before.

There were many tiny figures in his luxuriant beard, relating to his life in Taiwan.

The water buffalo is my favourite.

And there were three inscriptions on the back of the bust!

This is my favourite, and a sentiment relevant to the season!

Skywatch Friday

In Woodstock, Ontario,

the city where I grew up, she is commonly known as The Cow.

In recent years, she has been moved to a more prominent location for the tourists.

Being a native, I have never been this close to her before.
