Dutchman's Breeches

I was going to show you a long post about my walk in the woods, but it is taking far too long to edit the 300 photos, so I will show you the ones I fell in love with this morning...
All the spring wildflowers are blooming, before the trees leaf out and cut off their sunlight. I spent over two hours getting down on the ground, and getting up again, to move to the next treasure, and the next morning, I wondered why my legs hurt...
Need I tell you that I am going again this week, to do it all again?
I am linking this post with Nature Footstep's Blo-Ma.

Dutchman's Britches

The Dutchman's britches were in full flower this week.
There were so many of them!
A bee demonstrated how to get the nectar.
Some of the blossoms were done for the year.

Dutchmans Britches

The wildflowers are starting to bloom in the woods.
I had forgotten how tiny some of them are,
 like these Dutchmans britches.

Dutchman's Britches

The Dutchman's britches are all over the woods now.
I even managed to get a couple of stalks of them backlit by the setting sun!
Last time I posted them, someone thought they were bleeding hearts, so I looked it up. Dutchman's britches are a wildflower, Dicentra cucullaria, while bleeding heart is a garden flower, Dicentra spectabilis. They are in the same family, though.

Dutchman's Britches

The Dutchman's Britches are starting to bloom.
There was no sign of them on Friday!
