I count ten in the second photo. Of course, it's intierly possible that I counted one twice. They are rather small and clumped together. Also, the ducks that keep trying to get run over by my bus in the mornings have ducklings too
Mother ducks are protective of their babies when they are tiny. If you count carefully, you can see all nine of them. Maybe.
The bachelors' club is totally unconcerned, however.
