Be Still Week One

I have started an on-line course,
called Be Still.
It is about centring yourself before picking up the camera
and capturing still life photos.
Being still and focusing is harder than it looks.
So are still lifes.
But these images are my favourite results of the week.
I am linking this post with Nature Footstep Digital Art.

  1. To be still is harder than almost anything. To empty one's brain and focus is necessary.
    Lovely pictures.
    Have a nice day.

  2. I can understand why they are favorites. Still life pictures are the hardest ... I don't think I have ever done it right. These are beautiful.

  12. Beautiful. The pictures look to me as if you are meeting the class goal! I go to Yoga and being still/quiet/letting life flow is one of my intentions. During the session I think I 'get' it -- but it is very hard to carry the feeling into the real world. The class you are taking sounds like a good way to do that.

  13. I love the compass shots, Judy! Being still can be a very hard thing to do; I'm very accustomed to multitasking (as a matter of fact, that's what I'm doing right now!). But it works nearly the same with chess as in photography. My mind needs to be at peace for me to give my best play.

  15. Love so many of these and it IS MUCH harder than it looks! I am loving this course both for my photography but also for the reminder to just slow down.
