I have called this plant cow parsnip for years,
slowly coming to admire its blossoms,
but when I was checking my book tonight,
I found that cow parsnip has white flowers.
So I went to Google,
and found this is wild parsnip, not listed in my book...
I have seen this many times only in white as you said. Now you have given me a name for it. Next up is to look for a yellow like you have here. Thank you for the comment to my Macro Monday post. I'll have some more sand photos coming throughout the week.
ReplyDeleteJudy stay away from this it has a very evil side you can read about it on my blog. Evil Beauty. Be safe Judy. I thought it was pretty too. Please stay away from it.Hug B
ReplyDeleteand I adore it still, whatever the real name :). Isn't it rather good to learn something new though?
ReplyDeleteWild parsnip is always one of the first BIG plants I see out in the woods. It really takes off and I like its pretty colors.
ReplyDeleteEvery flower is full of life :)
ReplyDeleteGreat macro photos of the parsnip. I am sure I have seen this and not known what plant is was!
ReplyDeleteExcellent series of photos. Yes, I know that plant, if it should have a strong unpleasant smell.
ReplyDeleteJudy, it makes me think of dill, but you would definitely know if it was dill as it has a very distinctive aroma.
