The sun was rising behind the heavy clouds, but on this side of them, there was a scattering of snow, and a bitter wind. Parts of this fence are covered with the remains of raspberry canes.

I tried to figure out what it is about these pictures that makes me gasp - when I enlarged them, I realized it's the LIGHTING. It looks like the sun came out in just this one tiny spot, while the background is dark and mysterious. It's BEAUTIFUL!
