Locks and Keys

While in the house at Pinhey's Point, on the Ottawa River,
built in the early nineteenth century, I was exploring the locks and one key they had available.
The door of the dining room had an interesting cover on the outside of the lock.
I guess it was to keep out the drafts, or for privacy.
I took one photo of it without using the flash, and it looks very different.

  1. My grandfather wrote a tome about locks and keys. Unfortunately I've not seen the book, though. My personal preference most times is shots without flash. Here too.
