There was open water,
but I was fascinated with the ice at the edges.
All the rain at the end of last week had the water levels raised, and then the ice formed, broke, and reformed as the levels dropped.

Glorious shots! So hard to see the thaw and the promise of milder weather and then the harsh claw-back of winter . . . but the photos are wonderful:-)
