Sheep

Of course, there were sheep at Upper Canada Village.

Their wool was used for so many things in the 1860's.

I like the way this little lady is peeking under the rail fence.

And here is a pile of wool, waiting to be processed at the mill.

  3. Under the Rail is awesome. My folks raised sheep awhile and my brother went to school to learn to shear them. Mom sent the wool off, had batting made for each of us 9 kids, which were gifts at Christmas. That was over 25 yrs. ago. I still have the quilt I made with my batting. I also have my mothers carting tools.
    Thanks for the awesome memory.

  5. Great shots of the sheep, Judy. I can tell from your photos that you had a fun time there in spite of the weather.

  7. I still favor wool--better than polarfleece in cold or wet weather. And lamb is tasty, too!
