Japanese Lilac

The Japanese lilac is closely related to the common lilac,

but blooms a little later, when the common lilac is a memory.

The tiny blossoms shed onto the ground, like confetti,

but it does not smell the same. Alas!

  2. I don't think I've seen a Japanese lilac before. It's too bad it doesn't have the fragrance of our lilacs, but it sure does look gorgeous.

  3. With gorgeousness like this, we'll forgive it the lack of beautiful lilac scent!
