The red trilliums are starting

to bloom in the woods.

They are related to the more well-known

white trilliums.

  1. Very nice. I always assumed they were the same species, just a different phenotype. Do they bloom at the same time as the white ones?

  2. We have many white trilliums here in the mountains of east Tennessee, but red trillium are new to me. They are very beautiful.

  3. Beautiful macro photos! Stunning flowers - ours our white, and when they get old they turn dark purple. I've never seen a red one!
