Watery Wednesday

We arrived home to discover that the storm which drove north from Texas for Christmas Day

had been an ice storm in the Ottawa area. We only had heavy rain at my parents'.

Yesterday was sunny and mild, so the dogs and I spent the better part of the morning wandering the fields and taking photographs.

The cattails are especially fascinating, as you can still see the softness, although it is encased in ice.

I still refused to permit Annie to bring the deer's leg home with her.

  1. Texas does provide many excitement to its denizens - summer of blazing heat and holiday snow. It's certainly not boring in Tx.

    Happy new year.

  4. Lycky if was a nild ice storm. The last time I experienced one, all the power lines came down in Montreal. No heating, no cooking...
luckily we had a tiny kerosene amping cooker so we could warm some mik for the baby. The power was out for a week!

    Lovely shots.

  9. The ice storm makes for a lot of opportunities for the photographer but I understand it can be a problem for drivers and utility companies.
You made good use of the opportunities.
