The dogs were not pleased that I took a short detour on the way to the dog park,
to photograph the geese and the ice on this pond.
Then, while we were walking, I heard a flock of geese taking off, climbing steeply to avoid the hill we were walking along.
They passed almost directly over us,
and flew off to the fields for another day of preparation for the long flight south.
They are so magical. I love watching geese.

I loved watching them in the gravel pits! They would fly over NCC land and the Experimental farm. That looks like the one across from Bell H.S.!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. I almost feel as if I am there.
ReplyDeleteI have shivers...these images are sooo beautiful...what magic moments, Judy...Thank you for sharing! :o)
ReplyDeleteThanks for confirming! I travelled though Bruce Pit many times - jogging, bike riding and snowshoeing. My kids all attended Bell. They were in Joseph, The Pirates of Penzance, and many of the other musicals! I used to play ball at the Bell ball diamond, too!
ReplyDeleteLovely photos. Where are you that you have ice already? Bbbrrrr..Too cold for me. I had to take an emergency trip to Mariposa this am - my son and I both overslept and he missed the bus. Unfortunately it's 45 miles from our hoome to the school! However, on the way we passed over the Merced river and the Canadian Geese were just waking up (near dawn at the time) and I wished I could stop and take photos of them on the glassy water, shaking out their beautiful long wings, preparing to start their day.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing.
