As we headed out the door for our morning walk, there was a couple thousand geese passing overhead. They were actually flying south, but I think they were heading out to feed, rather than continuing their migration.
Oh the geese have arrived your way already. It'll be a couple of weeks still for them to arrive in these parts. The sound of geese and cranes makes me so happy this time of year.
You are quite clever to spot this! We used to live south of the Ottawa R., where they camped out for the evening. It took me a bit to figure out that they went from the fields in the day (to feed) to the water to stay over night.

ReplyDeleteThese aer wonderful birds. The graceful curves of their flight are beautiful to behold.

ReplyDeleteOur Edie & Eva are having a grand time!
We've seen geese (not this many at one time) heading north, so I hope they're not about ready to turn around and come back!
