It is so satisfying to finally see the buds on the Forsythia. Lovely shot. Judy every drop of pre-loved water from the house was already allocated. It only stretches so far. A great number of my precious citrus and other fruit trees have gone as haave at least a third of my roses , all surface dwelling perennials including Chrysanthemums and Paeonies. Bulbs were fried by the baking sun pulling them up out of the parched earth. Rows of Lilacs, Philadelphus and Abelias as well as other drought tolerant plants. Not much survives a drought one year short of biblical proportions.

Two weeks ago, I brought some forsythia branches into the house. They are blooming well ahead of the bush outside.
So delicate! How beautiful this yellew-green buds are!
