Lilacs
Today's Flowers
It was slightly windy when I was photographing these candles on the horse chesnut trees.
Something else I have walked past for years, and never looked at.

Willow Blossoms
I am fascinated with the development of these former pussywillows.
Chokecherry and Wild Strawberry
It may look as though the petals are falling from the trees, but really, the ground is carpeted with wild strawberry plants, also in bloom.

Morning Clouds
Skywatch Friday
Evening clouds have just a hint of colour to them.

Peony Bud
This peony is the furthest along. The plant is on the south side of the house, where the warmth is trapped by the wall, so it is the first of all the peonies to bloom.
Iris
This is the new iris in my garden. I bought the plant with no idea what colour the flowers were going to be. I am quite pleased!

Yellow Leaves
I have no idea what sort of trees these are,
but the vivid chartreuse of the compound leaves
attracts the eye.
I am going to have to watch them as the leaves mature.
Different Goslings
With so many people walking in the area,
these goose parents are much more relaxed than the pair where I usually walk.
I could get within 15 feet of the goslings, and no one fussed at all.

Vacation
I am going to be away for a few days, but I have left posts for the weekend. Enjoy!
Watery Wednesday
A water feature nestled amongst some office buildings.
It must encourage people to go for a walk on their lunch break.
Goslings
The parent geese are certainly more comfortable about their responsibilities.
They approached me, although they still stayed well out of reach.

Iris
These are medium sized irises,
from the garden at the church.
I have been thinking I need to go back and take more photos,
now that I have done the editing on this lot, and know the angles I want to pursue.
The taller irises in my garden are still in bud.
Cattails in the Marsh
I have never paid attention in the spring, to see how the new growth replaces the old.
The dry brown stalks are breaking down, and the new growth is taking its place.
Cornflowers
I seem to recall seeing these flowers labelled as cornflowers, but I am not sure.
They are a perennial, and that is all I am certain of.

Violets
I have a lot of violets growing in the back yard.
I am still trying to get a good photo of the yellow violets.

Sweet Cecily
Sweet cecily can be used to sweeten foods without added sugar,
but I grow it for the lovely feathery leaves and the delicate flowers.
