Gooseberries

Water Level

If the water level in the Ottawa River is down six to eight inches, how many millions of gallons would be required to get it back up to normal?

Rosebud

All the other roses were done for the summer, leaving this lone bud...

Water Lilies

I went to the Ottawa River today,
and the water level was down enough that I felt safe wading out to the water lily blossoms.
 Down how much, you ask?

Dew Drops

Spanish Flag

This is another flower from the college gardens.
I have had problems in capturing it
 before this.
I think I am learning, though.

Ptilotus

Continuing my collection of odd looking flowers
from the gardens at the college,
 I present the ptilotus.
How can you resist anything that is pink
 and fluffy?

Honeybee in the Tansy

This girl was working so hard that she paid me no attention.

Feather Celosia

More photos from the gardens at the college.
I am so glad they label stuff,
so I can learn the names.

Sea Holly

I love sea holly, although I do not have any in my garden.
 It's just so odd looking.
The wasps were busy pollinating the plants.
This black beast was about an inch long!
Such a beautiful silvery blue plant.

Spider Flower

I took a lot of photos of the cleome
when I was at the college garden.
It is such an odd looking flower,
but this is the first I have actually looked
at the shapes of the actual florets,
 and the way they open.

Vines

I noticed that a wild grape vine was twining
 around a grass stem,
and thought that would not give it much support.
 Since then,
I have seen so many other vines,
 all clinging where they could.
